Emma Sucato

Emma Ross attends Hockaday and loves to read.  In fact, she got her inspiration for her artwork from the poem, Oh the Places You’ll Go! Since it is all about choosing the right path, she felt it was very appropriate for the CARE Calendar. Emma adores horses — she has been riding since she was three — and playing volleyball. She also loves to make jewelry. One of Emma’s favorite memories if her first day at Hockaday. She was really nervous until one girl came up and introduced herself; now they are best friends! Emma would like to distribute some clothing and toys from her home to homeless shelters this summer. She has one sister who lives in Denver, two puppies and a cat. Emma is the daughter of Kate and Steve Ross.

Ella Patterson is the daughter of Ali and Lucas Patterson. She will soon complete the fourth grade at University Park Elementary School. Ella is an avid athlete who loves to participate in basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and swimming! At birth, she only weighed three pounds, but is already 5’3” tall at age ten! Ella hopes to help her aunt this summer with her twin cousins who are only four months old. She has six cousins and a grandpa who played football for UT and was part of a famous play. Emma loves being outside, but also enjoys crafting.

Madison Kanjanasim, daughter of Wilna and Pravaj Kanjanasim, attends Hockaday and plays the piano in her spare time. She won All-State in kindergarten and received a Superior rating at State competition last year. Madison likes to help her five year old sister and will work with her on reading and phonics this summer.  She has one cat named Silver and a lot of fish in a huge tank.  Madison loves to swim and feels she performs best in freestyle and breaststroke.

Shea Duffy attends Hockaday. She is the daughter of Mary Beth and Sean Duffy. The idea for her Calendar picture came to her when she was thinking about Christmas and how drugs are “naughty.” Shea loves reading and writing as well as playing soccer and all sports, especially volleyball, tennis and lacrosse. She hopes to babysit her cousin this summer. Shea has two brothers and loves to go on family trips skiing and to the beach.

Bridgette Vassallo is completing the fourth grade at Episcopal School of Dallas this year. She is the daughter of Kathy and John Vassallo. Bridgette’s favorite animal is the pig and so she decided to use that in her Calendar picture. Bridgette has one brother, John, who is her twin. She has a pet frog. Bridgette loves to play soccer as well as participate in competitive cheer and tumbling. One of her favorite memories is visiting her cousins in Spain.

Johnson Jin is the son of Zhao and Yang Jin and is completing the fourth grade at Armstrong Elementary. Originally, his Calendar theme of “Pull Others Out of Drugs” read, “Pull Friends Out of Drugs” until his sister told him he shouldn’t limit it to just friends. Johnson loves playing basketball and working with crafts using his hands. One of Johnson’s favorite memories is a family trip to China and another one to the beach in Florida. 

Natasha Chuka, the daughter of Violeta and Yuri Chuka, attends Hockaday. She loves to draw, play the piano and write. In fact, she is writing a book right now about pigs. This summer, Natasha would like to sell lemonade and cookies to raise money to give to a charity. She has two brothers who once covered her with sand at the beach and made her into a mermaid with crab pinchers for hands! Natasha came up with her idea for the Calendar when she saw the Grandfather clock in the hall and chose the theme: All the Time is No Drug Time!

Gabi Logan, the daughter of Rosaliz Ufret and Anastasia and Christopher Logan. She attends Highland Park Middle School, having just moved to Dallas from The Woodlands, Texas. Gabi is an only child, but does have two cats, named Calvin and Kato. She has travelled a lot with her family, and loves going places, but also likes to hang out with friends in her spare time.

Sophia Friguletto attends Hockaday. She is the daughter of Katharine and Mike Friguletto. Sophia loves to read and play fun, long board games, such as Monopoly, Sorry and Life. She loves to travel and has lived in London, England. Sophia has two younger sisters, Lauren and Juliet, and wants to help Juliet this summer with her reading. One of her favorite memories is when she played Liesel in The Sound of Music.

Emma Sucato, daughter of Lisa and Dan Sucato, attends Episcopal School of Dallas. She loves to dance and sing, as well as play the piano. She won first place in National Dance Competition and made it to the finals when she tried out for a Broadway show, Fly. Emma has two younger brothers. This summer, she would like to make a donation to the Scottish Rite Hospital.

Menaka Naidu attends Hockaday. She is the daughter of Kristin and Rajiv Naidu. Menaka loves participating in sports such as volleyball, basketball and tennis. She also loves to dance and draw. In fact, she is currently taking an Indian Dance class! This summer she would like to collect used books for schools that need them. Menaka has an older sister and a pet dog.

Shalini Kishore is the daughter of Dr. Aruna Koney and Potti Kishore. She attends Hockaday and counts getting accepted to go to school there as one of her favorite memories! Shalini’s favorite subject at school is Spanish. She also loves to read, play soccer and spend time with her friends. Some of her favorite books are the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson. Shalini always donates her Christmas money to her Grandpa who lives in India who then uses it for charity work there.
