Last summer, 16-year-old Ethan Couch killed four people while driving drunk near Burleson. Couch was sentenced to 10 years of probation and time in rehabitation after his lawyer claimed he suffered from "affluenza," meaning his parents' wealth affected his judgement. 

Following this controversial sentence, the Couch family will pay an undisclosed amount to the families of Breanna Mitchell and Hollie Boyles and her daughter Shelby. The family of youth pastor Brian Jennings, who was also killed in the accident, has not reached a settlement. 

On June 15, Couch was driving a Ford F-350 registered to his father's architectural sheet metal company. He struck four pedestrians while driving 70 mph, causing Couch's vehicle to flip and eject two teenager from the bed of the truck. 

One of these teenagers was Sergio Molina, who is now paralyzed and suffers from brain damage. Molina's family is seeking damages in a lawsuit against Couch. 

At the time of the accident, Couch was three times the legal limit of blood-alcohol content for adults. His father has agreed to pay for a rehab facility in Newport Beach, Calif., which costs $450,000 a year. 

This case has caused national attention and a debate discussing "affluenza."
