Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance president Winjie Tang Miao has been named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Fort Worth Business Press.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, May 2, 2014 – Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance president Winjie Tang Miao has been named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Fort Worth Business Press.

Miao’s career trajectory has been nothing short of amazing. In 2000, she began her career with Texas Health as an administrative resident at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. She quickly moved into managing key service lines and large groups of employees. She reduced costs with process redesign projects, managed several large construction projects on the Dallas campus and reduced the number of Medicaid reimbursement claims denied.

By 2007, Miao was named president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle. Under her leadership, the hospital expanded services and received national recognition for its quality and community health efforts.

In 2012, she left Texas Health Azle to focus full-time on the construction of Texas Health Alliance, a full-service hospital in northern Tarrant County. She oversees the 50-bed hospital and the nearby Convenient Care Clinic which works with local businesses to provide health care to their workers.

Miao is no stranger to accolades. She was honored in 2013 with the Outstanding Achievement Award from the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce-Southwest Region. She was also recognized in Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its 2012 "25 Healthcare Leaders Under Age 40." In 2008, she was honored as one of Modern Healthcare's "Up and Comers."

Miao received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Miao and her husband, Darryl, reside in Fort Worth.

Miao and other “40 Under 40” recipients will be recognized at a dinner on May 14. Other Texas Health honorees are Becky Tucker, vice president of Integrated Health Campuses at Texas Health Resources, and Laura Fuquay, marketing director of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southlake.
