May 19, 2012, Keller Farmers Market (KFM) will host the first Chef’s Table Cooking Demonstration of the 2012 season, featuring Josh Harmon of The Milk & Honey Co.
The Chef’s Table Program is a mobile educational cooking unit taken into schools, churches and community events to demonstrate seasonal cooking by a local chef. Funds are currently being raised to offset the cost of this program by a raffle for a donated handmade, one-of-a-kind quilt featuring panels of Texas fruits and vegetables. Design and piecework was produced by Tina Lorenzen and quilting was done by Thread Dimensions. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and are sold at the Info Booth at market. The raffle will be drawn at the market, June 2, 9 a.m. Winner need not be present to win.
In addition, directed donations to the program are accepted. If this is a program that truly "speaks to you" or if you would like to schedule Chef's Table in your community, please contact the Executive Director, Bridget Rodewald, at board@kellerfarmersmarket.com.
First-time vendors at Keller Farmers Market this week include Volunteer Coffee, a Texas coffee roaster who will be donating 10% of all sales back to the market, and Jazzy Fat’s Cajun Classic, featuring New Orleans style pralines. D-Bar Farms will also be returning to KFM this weekend with a selection of produce, as will Grapevine Grains with granola and oatmeal and other healthy choices.
