On May 22, 2012 at approximately 3:35 pm the Keller Police Department received a call from 2130 Rufe Snow (Woodforest National Bank within the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market) regarding a bank robbery. Witnesses stated a white male approached the Woodforest National Bank counter and handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller opened the note, read it and placed money in a bank bag. The suspect immediately left the stores through the north exit doors with an undisclosed amount of money.
Prior to this call, patrol officers received a teletype on their in-car computer of a suspicious white male entering the Woodforest National Bank at Western Center and Beach in Fort Worth. The male was asked to remove a ball cap by a teller, became nervous and left the bank.
Upon investigation it appeared the Keller offense and the incident in Fort Worth were related. The FBI task force was contacted to assist in the investigation. At approximately 8:25pm Keller investigators received a telephone call from the FBI Task Force indicating they may have the robbery suspect in custody.
The investigation revealed, the Fort Worth Fugitive Task Force was serving a warrant in their city on an unrelated case. During the search, US currency sprayed with red dye was located in the apartment. The apartment was occupied by several individuals and three were taken into custody. The Fort Worth Police Department recalled Keller having a bank robbery.
The FBI Task Force investigator along with a Keller detective interviewed the suspect allegedly involved in the Keller bank robbery. He confessed to his involvement in the bank robbery. Aaron Seth Johnson, white male, 19 years of age of Fort Worth is awaiting arraignment by a Federal Judge. The identity of the other two persons taken into custody is not being disclosed at this time because it may hinder Fort Worth’s unrelated case. Keller detectives do believe these two were involved in the planning and execution of the Keller bank robbery.
