Keller ISD will join a lawsuit challenging the state education funding formula, according to an article in the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

Last week the district's board members voted unanimously to join the lawsuit, which will cost KISD about $35,000 to take part in. It's all being coordinated by the Thompson and Horton law firm in Houston. One of the main points in the suit is the idea of supporting school districts that are efficient.

Although Keller has a five-star rating for achieving high academic results on low per-student spending, the district still receives less than the state average in per-student funding.
