Keller home sales decline, home prices decline slightly

MetroTex Association of REALTORS releases real estate statistics for June 2016

Keller home sales decreased in June and home prices decreased slightly with demand starting to level off, according to the June 2016 North Texas housing market report released today by the MetroTex Association of REALTORS. 

“The number of homes sold in Keller decreased compared to last year. Sales prices decreased slightly, and the market is getting closer to balancing,” said Russell Berry, president of MetroTex.

According to the report, 92 homes were sold in Keller in June 2106, down 23.3 percent as the year prior. The median price for Keller area homes decreased 1.4 percent year-over-year to $387,150 during the same time frame.

Keller’s monthly housing inventory was 3.3 months in June 2016. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University cites that 6.5 months of inventory represents a market in which supply and demand for homes is balanced. 

Homes spent an average of 31 days on the market in June 2016. Additionally, there were 240 active listings for the Keller housing market during the same time frame.
