Fort Worth resident, Cristina Ramirez, will be raising funds for the 9th annual Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk on November 8. Her team, Walking for Sergio, has participated in the event since 2009, when she lost her young husband to brain cancer.

Cristina has been a tireless and dedicated fundraiser for the DFW Walk, selling homemade tamales, organizing restaurant nights, and painting parties – whatever it takes to help find a cure for brain cancer. She has also motivated her team to win the spirit award for 4 out of the 6 years they have participated in the walk. In addition to being an active fundraiser for the walk, Cristina also serves as a Texas state advocate for the National Brain Tumor Society throughout the year.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk connects brain tumor survivors, patients, family members, caregivers, and friends for an inspiring, family-friendly fundraising walk. Proceeds raised at the event go toward funding critical brain tumor research and raising vital awareness of the disease.

Please consider joining the National Brain Tumor Society on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8:00 to 11:00 AM at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Register to participate or form a team at: www.BrainTumorWalk.org/DFW. For more information contact: Marla Payne, Director of Events, at 972-829-9981 or mpayne@braintumor.org.
