The Greater Keller Women's Club (GKWC) has had a long tradition of volunteer service and giving back to the community. On Wednesday, July 17, 2013 thirty-four club members received the President's Volunteer Service Award, honoring their commitment and many hours of service to the local community.
The President's Council on Service and Civic Participation created this prestigious award as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard — measured by the number of hours of service over a 12 month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime. The Greater Keller Women's Club became an Official Certifying Organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award in August 2009.
On Wednesday the GKWC recognized four Gold recipients, who have each volunteered more than 500 hours of volunteer service, eleven Silver recipients, who volunteered 250-499 service hours, and nineteen Bronze recipients with 100-249 hours of volunteer service for the Club's 2011-2012 fiscal year. Please help us congratulate the following ladies for all their efforts.
GOLD 500 Hours or more — Dorene Badalamenti, Mimi Catanzaro, Carolyn Fleet, and Daryl Lynch
SILVER 250-499 Hours — June Aurelio, Linda Bowden, Gayle Clark, Susan Gasso-Arnold, Kimberly Head, Cindy Keen, Beth Murray, Paulette Olson, Suzanne Ponton, Caroline Sherman, and Betsy Thurston,
