Clayton Kids Make Texas-Size Valentines for Hospital Heroes

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Boys and girls in Clayton Youth Enrichment’s afterschool program showed their appreciation to hospital staff at Texas Health hospitals by creating over-sized valentine cards (20” x 32”) with valentine greetings and encouraging messages.

“Our kids wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the men and women who have been working so very hard during the pandemic to take care of all those who’ve been affected,” said Jason Ray, CEO of Clayton Youth Enrichment. Clayton Youth Enrichment, Tarrant County’s largest nonprofit dedicated solely to providing after-school enrichment and childcare programs, annually serves more than 7,000 children.

“Texas Health Southwest is so grateful for the support from the kids at Clayton Youth Enrichment. The hard-working care teams feel the love through the art and messages presented in the Valentine cards,” added Clint Sanders, Senior Director, Professional & Support Services at Texas Health Southwest.

Kids from Clayton programs in seven area elementary schools participated in the project. The afterschool program sites represented included Lily B. Clayton Elementary, Meadowbrook Elementary, Woodway Elementary, and Hazel Harvey Peace Elementary in Fort Worth ISD, June Davis Elementary in Crowley ISD, and Walker Creek Elementary, and Florence Elementary in Keller ISD.
