Glass art and quiltingCathy Shepherd and Barbara Hartman bring their individual art forms to Keller Town Hall, located at 1100 Bear Creek Parkway, for the month of April. Both ladies create with a pallet of brilliant color, texture and varied shapes using different media on their ultimate canvases.

Cathy brings her creations to life with iridescent transparent glass layered together with mosaic cut dichroics, blending blown and fused glass shards for more visual energy.

"She strives to create art that is beyond her expectations, leaving the viewer with the 'WOW' factor," said Libby Gergely of the Keller Public Arts.

Quiltmaking allows Barbara a means to express herself through the warmth and softness of the fibers with their diversity and unlimited possibilities and inspiration. The work she is doing today reflects her attitudes about herself, life in general, with a little social commentary added for good measure.

You can join Cathy and Barbara on Thursday evening, April 11th from 7 to 9 p.m. at Keller Town Hall for a special reception in their honor and enjoy their art along with conversation and refreshments. The show is free and suitable for all ages.
