North Central Ballet’s Victoria Allen danced her way to the top at the Youth America Grand Prix competition on Sunday, Feb. 17. Allen won the 2013 Senior Division Contemporary award at the competition in Denver, Colo.

The annual Youth America Grand Prix in New York City is the world’s largest student ballet scholarship competition that awards more than $250,000 annually in scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide.

Allen is a 15-year-old ballet student who began training at the age of 4. She has danced in Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Gaite Parisienne, Firebird and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. A Nutcracker veteran, she has danced the roles of Clara, Rat Queen, Mirliton, Jack-In-The-Box Doll, Snowflake and Waltz of the Flowers.

The accomplished dancer has been offered places in prestigious summer programs, including New York City Ballet and Orlando Ballet on scholarship, American Ballet Theater and numerous Joffrey Ballet programs. Her dream goal is to dance professionally.
