Introducing BubbleLife Pets of the Week

On Monday, Oct. 1, the cities of Keller, Southlake and Colleyville merged their respective animal services operations into a single regional operation. The regional animal services and adoption center is currently located at the Keller Police Complex at 330 Rufe Snow Dr. in Keller.

Last week, the Keller City Council approved a site plan for a 14,990-square-foot expansion and renovation of the existing Keller Police Complex. The expansion will house the Keller Police Department and the Northeast Tarrant Communications Center and jail. The expansion will also house the Regional Animal Shelter and Adoption Center to better serve the cities of Keller, Southlake, Colleyville and Westlake.

Since the animal services merger, some local animal shelters have reported crowded pet rooms. In an attempt to help these pets find new homes, BubbleLife Media is launching a “Pets of the Week” article, featuring two local pets in need of homes once a week.

Without further ado, here are the first two BubbleLife Pets of the Week:

Dog of the Week: Flo, Rat Terrier

Flo is a gentle and sweet Rat Terrier who has been at the Keller shelter for more than a week. She loves her daily walk and enjoys being with people and other dogs. The shelter is surprised nobody has come looking for her and hopes she will soon be given a second chance in life.

Cat of the Week: Jenny, Tabby

Jenny, a pretty young tabby, was surrendered to the shelter with her brother Lenny as a new baby arrived on the scene who appeared to be allergic to them. Jenny is a sweet, declawed cat who would make a great addition to any family.
