Giovanni Capriglione Announces for Re-election to Texas House District 98
SOUTHLAKE - Today, State Representative Giovanni Capriglione announced he will seek re-election to Texas House District 98. The Republican primary election is March 3, 2020 and the general election is November 3, 2020.
“It’s an honor to represent the hard-working people of District 98 in the Texas House, and I’m proud to deliver conservative results for our community.” said Representative Capriglione. “In the last legislative session, I led the effort to pass $5 billion in property tax relief, advanced a constitutional ban on a state income tax and lowered Robin Hood payments for the first time in history, keeping more of our tax dollars in our local schools.”
Representative Capriglione is a successful small business owner and proven job creator. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Representative Capriglione passed a balanced state budget and led the fight to root out government waste, fraud and abuse in state government. He’s a pro-life leader who has a 100% pro-life voting record, voted to defund Planned Parenthood and authored and passed numerous pro-life bills.
Known for his tireless work to shine a light on state government, Representative Capriglione passed major legislation in the 86th Legislative Session to close loopholes in the state’s Public Information Act which allowed governments to hide how it was spending our tax dollars. The leader in the Texas House on cybersecurity and data privacy issues, Representative Capriglione passed bills to better prepare our state for cyberattacks and to prevent misuse of our personal data.
Representative Capriglione received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts prior to receiving his MBA from Santa Clara University in California.
