BubbleLife Pets of the Week

Dog of the Week: Harrison

Harrison is a very happy young dog who was recently picked up as a stray. He is a favorite of staff and volunteers at the Keller shelter, as he always appears to be in a good mood and has a permanent smile on his face.

This energetic young dog enjoys his daily walk and loves being with people who care about him.

Harrison has been neutered. He is heartworm negative and is current on his vaccinations.

Cat of the Week: Hugo

The first time volunteers walked by Hugo's cage, he extended a large furry paw to get their attention. He then proceeded to lie on his back with his paws in the air, requesting a belly rub. He is mellow and friendly and looks like a favorite old teddy bear.

Hugo recently tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). FIV is not debilitating or contagious. In fact, some studies have shown that cats with FIV can live longer, healthier lives than cats who are FIV negative. The disease is not transmitted through saliva or sharing litter boxes. In a house where cats get along together, FIV positive cats can live happily alongside FIV negative cats.

Hugo is currently in a foster home and gets along well with all the resident cats. He has so much love to give and deserves to sit on a warm lap, relax by a sunny window and know what love is.
