Turn Over a New Leaf with Keller's Fall Recycling Program

As the trees are starting to turn and leaves beginning to fall, blanketing lawns and streets, the City of Keller will host the second day of its Residential Curbside Leaf Recycling program this week.

On Wednesday, November 30th, the City of Keller and the Community Waste Disposal (CWD) will provide pickup and recycling of bagged leaves for residential customers. Leaves need to be placed at the curb by 7 .a.m to ensure pickup during the service hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Be advised that bagged leaves cannot be placed out more than 12 hours prior to the collection day.

While biodegradable lawn bags are not required, the CWD encourages their use to maximize recycling efforts. The leaves will be combined with other organic matter to compost until a quality humus is produced. The city will then use the humus to improve soil conditions within the parks system.

The process will help reduce the waste stream as a part of efforts to keep Keller "Green."
